Farm Products and More!
On January 2, 2014, we purchased 10 acres of unimproved land. We call it the "main campus." A few months later, we purchased the planted pines known as the "south campus." We moved here full time from Tallahassee just in time to host Thanksgiving at the Farmstead in 2014. After three years of living in the RV, we moved into the Farmhouse and eventually acquired the "north campus," 20 acres across PowWow and started our Hipcamp, Airbnb and Tentrr business while developing the farmstead.
The livestock and poultry breeds on the farmstead change frequently causing the animal census to change almost daily. At any given moment we have:
alpacas, sheep, chickens,
goats, pigs, turkeys, guinea hens, ducks, honey bees and we recently added "Patty" the pony.
You never know what we might add next!
We have our farm listed on Airbnb and Hipcamp.
Guests can participate in farm activities at their comfort level and maybe a little more. Every day is different and each season presents a new set of tasks. Guests can assist with everything from daily feeding, birthing goats and lambs, to milking, collecting eggs and honey, shearing, and many other activities. Farm guests can also enjoy a quiet campfire while gazing at the stars. The exhilarating outdoor hot shower is a great way to end a day of hiking the planted pines, photographing the animals, kayaking, and cycling on a popular bike trail that runs in front of the farmstead.
We also offer camping experiences for youth groups and teach several different merit badges to Scouts along with providing the opportunity for cub scouts and trail life scouts to meet a number of their requirements.
